Charly writes all lyrics and melody lines, composes and arranges and has co-produced and recorded the Tribal Music, Submerge and World Keeps Spinning albums at their own “As You Are Music Studios”.
Her love of world music stems from an early age with a fascination for cultural diversity and was developed in the bustling multicultural hub of North London, where she taught music at a high school with students from 83 different nationalities.
Now based on the Sunshine Coast, Australia, she is inspired by the land, nature, legends, spirit and experiences around her which forms the songs, chants and message which is planted and pollinated through As You Are’s growing collection of music.

Rodger was conceived in South Africa and sent to be born in England, due to his multiracial ethnicity and the oppression of apartheid that existed at the time. He returned to South Africa at the age of 17 and went on to travel the world. Rodger’s mix of African and Australian heritage is apparent in the style of his freeform rhythmic improvisation. He writes all the beats and grooves, fusing African soul, traditional Latin percussion, driving kick drum and his own creative flair with a pounding, energising pulse. His unique style of didgeridoo playing using loops and delay create a memorable sound which is synonymous with his music and is distinctively recognisable.
